Do not stand at my grave...

Recommended Posts

Kit

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

This is true. Everything that was ever to be...always was. It was just stuff. 13.8 billion years later we each were and are just a blink in the cosmos...and then we return to stuff. Somehow I feel blessed...and uneasy at the same time that I know that.

So true Kit. I've always felt that as long as we keep a person in our memories and heart they haven't really died. My husband passed away 2 1/2 years ago and sometimes I feel him very close to me.

What gracious and epithet words by Mary Elizabeth Frye

I’m sure those touching words were all ignored by family and friends.

At her passing.

I made what I call my caprese inspired anti pasta salad for the funeral lunch.

2082.thumb.jpg.f1aa0844efc598eac7ce51c990391c38.jpg

This is zoodles, cherry tomatoes, red onion thin sliced, yellow and red bell peppers cut into very thin match sticks, fresh mozzarella,  and thin sliced prosciutto with pesto. It was a huge hit and there was barely enough left for me to have with dinner tonight.

About 6 people asked me for the recipe. :)

This is my mom's garden. I need to clean out and freshen the water in the bird bath tomorrow. That was important to her.

No wonder she loved her garden, it is beautiful. A lot of work went into it but I bet it gave back much pleasure.

I love the plate upon which your salad is served. I have some vintage ones that we always used for a dinner plate. There is one odd one I picked up somewhere, it is microwave safe. :)

My brother and I have been arguing over an old bowl. It's old and chipped and the blue coloring on the outside is scratched and wearing away.

But it's older than I am and we loved to eat cereal out of it when we were kids.

I think he's going to win. :D

Ok, the two big points of inheritance arguements.

The bowl as mentioned before. As you can see, it's nothing special.

I remember my parents coming home with this dice cup and we always used it while playing games. And we LOVED to play games as a family. It was very well used.
