Honey Citron and Ginger Tea

Recommended Posts

xpDiabetes

Did anyone try the Honey Citron and Ginger Tea from Costco.  I thought it is good for health, but when I checked my sugar 30 mins after taking one glass of this with one and half dinner spoons of the Tea mix, my BG shot from 90 to 200.

Pay attention to those labels. This has about 13 carbs per serving of 2 to 3 tsp and those carbs are 12g of sugar. That would spike me bad also.

For a really nice hot ginger drink , shave  about 6 thin slices of the ginger root with a little stevia steeped in hot water.

I'm not sure which I prefer...ginger or lemon, and that cake has both :eating:

If it was a chocolate cake... I'd say no thanks.

dowling gram

For anyone who wants to make this cake or any cream cheese frosting--You can make powdered sugar with regular granulated sweetener(I use Splenda) by whirling it a nut grinder or blender. Wait until it settles after blending before you remove the lid or you'll have a a cloud of sugar all over. I've used this method often when a recipe calls for powdered sugar as I can never find powdered sweetener in the stores. It's probably cheaper too
