Last month my annual A1c was 4.9 down from 5.1. My Doctor feels annual testing is no longer needed.  (such faith she has in me).   this is a test I did for her: 94BG before lunch (after a 35 min walk).38 carbs of Mac n cheese with left over Ham and dark chocolate, wine.  she wants me to meter 2 hours later (I always thought it was 90 min). BG132.  this I sent off to her.    A quiet afternoon and 105 ,2 hours later.   I will still meter daily, but she insists Synthroid did it all.

You can always get the at home A1c tests and test yourself.  My experience is the results closely match the ones I get from a lab.  I trust them.  I do one every month as it keeps up my motivation and is my "canary in the mine".

Do you feel Synthroid helped your numbers??   Snapping back to 105 surprised me.  I think that is better than a few months ago.

I really have no answer to that.  My low thyroid and diabetes were diagnosed at the same time.  Been taking Levothyroxine (I believe it is a generic of Synthroid) ever since.
