IrinaHarr 3,938 Report post Posted March 12 153 today, taking my puppy boy for a long walk. Our puppy girl is going though "special days" for the first time and our boy is very stressed and vocalizing almost non-stop like a theremin (musical instrument) - sometimes I hear something like original Star Trek tunes. Anyway, google advised long walks without the the female to calm the boy. 🤪 7 FunDad62, TX_Clint, adiantum and 4 others reacted to this
meyery2k 26,648 Report post Posted March 12 98 today @IrinaHarr If your puppy ever manages to vocalize the theremin from "Good Vibrations" you will make millions My friend is a little worried because his wife has to take 2 trips to Honolulu for cataract surgery. Apparently she has these special lenses in her eyes so a specialist there is needed. I couldn't help myself and commented, "Steve Austin (the bionic man) never had these problems". It gave him a much needed laugh. I was glad because I sort of regretted it the minute I said it but, fortunately, it was well received. 6 IrinaHarr, FunDad62, Diana_CT and 3 others reacted to this

adiantum 35,980 Report post Posted March 13 7.4 after a hot Summers night. I had 2 fans on high blowing across the bed all night which kept me cool & the mosquitos away. Two more fans in the office & lounge room which gives the dog comfort. He stays on the bed until I fall asleep, then goes to his favourite doorway. A cool change with heavy rain predicted for this week. Irina, its 12 inch smoked portion of a real roos tail . Its the only thing he will chew on to clean his teeth. He swallows chicken necks whole. Congrats Clint!! 6 1 janice21475, TX_Clint, IrinaHarr and 4 others reacted to this
adiantum 35,980 Report post Posted March 14 Just found this recipe to spray outdoors to keep mosquitoes away. Its a subject Ive only seen mentioned in the fasting forum which is why I post it here. https://www.hometalk.com/43424486/keep-mosquitoes-away-with-this-diy-spray Only 3 ingredients are needed:Big bottle of cheap BLUE Mouthwash3 cups of Epsom Salts3 - 12 oz. cans of cheap stale beer Mix all 3 ingredients together until salt is dissolved. Start with the bottle of mouthwash , Then add 3 cups Epsom salts Next add 3 cans stale beer. FYI, start with a large pitcher. I had to switch to a larger one due to lack of space - it's a lot of liquid! Stir well until salt is thoroughly dissolved...Pour into a spray bottle. It makes quite a lot.Spray anywhere you sit or hangout outside, it won't harm plants or flowers.I spray it on my window screens from the inside out (so I don't get my windows dirty I spray the deck and walkways throughout the gardens. As long as it doesn't rain or get washed off it lasts a good amount of time - not necessary to spray each time you go out. It does make a huge difference in keeping those biters away.Recently I had the Little's here for a few days and we spent a lot of time outside playing.Happy to report no one received a bite. 3 ran23, meyery2k and FunDad62 reacted to this
Hammer 19,303 Report post Posted March 14 I lowered my nightly Lantus dose last night, and woke up to a 46 (2.55). I keep lowering the dose, and I keep getting low numbers. I'll try lowering it again tonight, but this time, I'll lower it by three units instead of just one. 6 1 adiantum, ran23, meyery2k and 4 others reacted to this

IrinaHarr 3,938 Report post Posted March 14 Congratulations Clint!! Ham radio exam is not easy to pass, still morse code required I guess - are you a novice? My hubby has very old dingy T-shirt with "Lazy Ham" written across the chest with ball pens scribble, its stands for his call L Z H N 0 (lima zulu hotel november zero). He does not do Ham Radio any more. 143 today, non-stop rain for next 3 days. 7 FunDad62, Diana_CT, adiantum and 4 others reacted to this

Hammer 19,303 Report post Posted March 14 Irina, no, they dropped the Morse Code requirement sometime back in the 1990's(?) I think. I think that was a big mistake, since now, we are getting a lot of CBer's who take the test, and bring their bad CB radio habits to ham radio and are messing it up. These CBer's think that ham radio is just a fancy CB radio, when it is not. When you had to study for the test, and learn Morse Code, that kept the bad CBer's out of ham radio. Those CBer's who took the time to study and learn Morse Code, appreciated their ham license, and would never do anything to lose it (I was one of those CBer's). They learned the proper operating procedures, and practiced good radio etiquette. That's not the case today. 4 1 meyery2k, FunDad62, TX_Clint and 2 others reacted to this

adiantum 35,980 Report post Posted March 14 7.4 From 2 fans all night I went to 2 blankets last night. Cool night give a great sleep although I had crazy dreams. TV last night had the Ivan Milat story which I couldnt watch, but the reminder of him & my very lucky escape still plays on my mind. IrinaHarr 3,938 Report post Posted March 15 (edited) 142 today, we had two days of non-stop rain but.. it was not snow On the other hand, high winds up to 50 mph overturned my patio furniture. No big deal, I will put it right when wind is over. My hubby did get his license in the 90s, and he got his N0 category after being novice for some time. Its N0 LZH (I spelled it backwards). He lost all his ham radio equipment in the divorce, never got back to it after. I picked up universal speak to convey letters of alphabet via phone - I have to spell my name to so many people to get it right: India-Romeo-India-November-Alpha Edited March 15 by IrinaHarr 6 adiantum, Diana_CT, FunDad62 and 3 others reacted to this
