I love this sharing of knowledge & experiences of the forum.

Hammer I'll need to find a house in which I can move straight into. Building is too time consuming & short term rental isnt easy with a dog.

Blocks of land near me are selling at a crazy $900,000Au not that I want to live here anymore, I just want quieter & less populated.

It's much easier to look online & the maps showed a creek just a few houses down from that one I posted pics of  which wouldve cased the flooding that region had just last year.

Cranberry farming is a new concept to me so I had to google it.

FunDad, that is so sad about the young deputy. Reminds me of a killer here that spent 7 years in thick bush country  occasionally squatting in abandoned huts.

There was a 50 mile procession to bring the deputy's body from the medical examiners office to the local funeral home here.  The streets were lined with people paying their respects.  If I had known about it I would've been there.  They drove by within a mile of my house.

6.3 / 113 at 4am and after 7 hours sleep .

I've run out of meat for the birds so my dog cant go to the park today. I cant disappoint so many birds  that line up expecting food. The magpies  have fine strong wings yet they run some 50yds towards me when the car pulls up.

My boy will have to settle for a walk on the leash in a different area.

They apprehended the cop killer yesterday afternoon after 5 days on the run.  He surrendered once they had him cornered.  Got bit by a police dog.  He shot another police dog a few days ago but the dog is ok.  They arrested him with the handcuffs of the deputy he murdered.

My reading this morning was 128.

We had a rainy day yesterday with thunderstorms in the late afternoon, kind of a do nothing day, I got a lot of reading down and I also had to proofread a 160 page survey results for a committee that I am on.

147 this morning, looking forward to some rain tonight and tomorrow - it was very dry recently. Corn farmers like dry fall weather as they do not need to spend money for fuel for corn dryers; some leave corn in the field till dried by frost.

7.1 I bought bird food at the local independent  supermarket . I just do do in store shopping! It took less then 2mins to go to the meat section & to the checkout.. & there I stood for 10mins waiting to be served. Grrrrrr. We arrived at the park just as a lovely dog had been put in his vehicle, only to have him jump out after recognising my car. It amazes me that dogs & birds  recognise certain cars yet I cant.

Irina frost  plays a major part in agriculture as oranges need a frost to sweeten them. Oranges grown in this neighbourhood are sour  but they do make a lovely marmalade.

A 92 (5.11) today.  I can't seem to get that number down these days.  I've been increasing my nightly Lantus insulin dose, but it still stays in the 90's.  Tonight I'm going to go without eating for 4-5 hours, then test again, just to see if I'm still in the 90's.  If I am, I'm going to grab another insulin pen from a newer box of pens and see if that might help. (I have one pen left from my previous shipment of pens, so opening up a new box of pens will offer up a new batch of pens.)

127 this morning, might thunderstorms missed us by 5 miles (I could hear thunder) and we've got very little rain. May be more later today, another cloud moves into our metro area about 3pm. New dahlia is opening, I think it is going to be dark red one. I watched a lot of youtube videos on how to grow dahlias, and turns out I did pretty much everything wrong and yet one of tubers from Walmart performed great and pushing like dozen flowers every week. Greatest surprise of the season :)

More action at Kilauea.  This is entirely within the caldera (so far) so no threat to life or property.

6.4 but it was 7.2 at 3am when I got up for a snack.

I hope Kilauea settles down, but wow what a spectacle.

My reading this morning was 118.

My company left and I am heading home early, I was planning on leaving Sunday and going up to my brother's for my birthday but I have a slow leak in one of my tires. Being out in the middle of nowhere now the tourist left, the earliest anyone can get a tire is next Tuesday so I decided to cut out the trip to my brother's and head home to the land of stocked tire stores in every town.

I leave you today with a sunset photo of the beach down the street.
