Researchers think they may have stumbled upon a “game changer” drug which can achieve weight loss effects in obese people that were hitherto only possible through surgical intervention. 

The experimental treatment involves intravenously administering a weekly dose of a drug called semaglutide, typically used to treat Type 2 diabetes.

60% dropped out of the trial because of serious side effects. Not a very good trial.

 

And not really a game changer only a short term fix. Taking a diabetes drug when you don't need it may lead to detrimental health issues in the long run and when you stop taking them your weight will come back. The only sure way to lose weight and keep it off is to make a lifestyle change and cut your carbs. A high carb diet is what makes you fat in the first place and cutting carbs is what will make you lose the fat.
