I came across this interesting article. This site, Hanauma Bay, is a popular destination for residents and tourists. Amazing transformation after the place got a bit of a rest from people. https://www.staradvertiser.com/2020/09/25/breaking-news/monk-seal-spotted-enjoying-waters-at-hanauma-bay-nature-preserve-without-humans/

This morning’s reading was 143 @ 4:30AM Yesterday I went whale watching with some friends staying at my cottage. What you are looking at is the most famous humpback whale in the world! Salt and her daughter. "This book is about Salt, the most famous humpback whale in the world. Salt is a female humpback whale that feeds in the cold, productive waters of the Gulf of Maine. In the summer, Salt is often seen feeding off Cape Cod, Massachusetts.' [...] As of "2016 Salt had 14 children, 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren." What makes her famous is she was the first whale that they identified through body markings. "Much of the research used to study humpback whales utilizes a benign technique called photo-identification, or photo-ID. Here, natural body markings and features are photographed and used to create catalogs of known individuals. Individual humpbacks are then tracked over the course of a season as well as from one season to the next." See the two white marks on her back? That is how they know that it is Salt. We went to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary about 20 miles north of Provincetown and when we were nearing the sanctuary I saw a number of whale watching boats and small crafts. Overall we saw about fifteen whales including Salt and her calf.

6.8 Beautiful photo Diana & I loved to allow my mind wander there just to pretend I could see those waves. wow!! That email was a genuine paypal but a stuff up on their side. I always suspect phishing but hovering the mouse over the address gave the same as their usual. Glad I charged my phone battery as that call took ages. They were really busy with everyone stressed just as me. They were doing work on their system & accidentally sent off those emails. I'm usually cool but that stressed me, Its a year since my bank a/c was hacked & I didnt want to go through that again

143 I am up at the Cape until Monday with some friends from Long Island and we went out to eat at a restaurant here in Wellfleet. Since we were really early I drove to the Cape Cod National Seashore Marconi Station (The actual Marconi station was located a 100 yards (91m) out in the ocean because of beach erosion) for the sunset. The surf was unbelievable! With hurricane Teddy a hundred miles off the coast, the surf was over ten feet high (3m)! Taken with my Nokia smartphone For supper I had Taste of the Mediterranean with prosciutto, garlic, feta, basil, fire roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, and Halibut. Delicious!

7 Diana I am in awe of you seeing so many whales. What a magnificent experience. The humpbacks here are on their return run to Antarctica . Great story of the seals Mike. A few years ago I enjoyed watching a seal sitting on the rock eating a huge fish..about 2ft https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-17/migaloo-white-whale-sightings-on-mid-north-coast/12361284 This is Migaloo a white humback that migrates along the east coast

Here on the Cape seals are all over the beaches and with the seal come the sharks. The sharks are so numerous that they have spotter planes going up and down the coast looking for sharks, and they close down the beach if a shark gets too close to shore. Two years ago a swimmer was killed at a town beach
